Welcome! Willkommen! Welkom!

Today, just some answers to basic questions like when, why, what, etc.

Those who know me well enough know that I can not sit still, that I have a hunger for new adventures and that I am not taken aback by traveling on my own. At new years eve I decided that 2013 would be a year of change for me. A different house, a different city, a different job. And maybe, a different country. In February I applied for a working holiday visa which allows me to work legally in Canada for one year, actually I did that just in case I might be needing it...
Why Canada? I have been there before and each time, I felt like home. I had the urge to stay and the last time I was on Vancouver airport to fly home, I actually considered not even getting on the plane back home. (Oh well, it was more like childish behavior of stamping feet and looking very angry...)

Then, in April, I got offered a summer job! So I quit my job in The Netherlands, cancelled my rent and started preparing for a move to Canada.
I'll be working as a tour guide for Timberwolf tours, mostly camping and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. Due to the fact that the training week for the guides starts 2nd of June, it only left me with 6 weeks of preparation. But, today 25th of May, I am almost ready! (If anybody ever doubts whether it is possible to emigrate in less than 2 months; it is kind of doable!)
I'll be flying to Calgary first of June 2013.

After the summer, I'll try to find a job as an engineer/project manager again. Maybe I'll succeed, maybe not. We'll see! It's all about the adventure, chasing my dreams of being closer to the mountains and maybe getting a job that allows me to combine being in the mountains and getting paid. (Yes, I am very excited about the job as a tour guide!)

How long I will stay? I don't know yet. The visa is for one year, so I am guessing I'll stay for one year. But then again, if I find a job it is possible to get a visa for longer. And if it's a job I love, I'll for sure try! But maybe I'll come back. Who knows, maybe I bump into my future husband. Although I doubt he is a grizzly bear...

I always enjoy reading some comments, so please leave yours too! And if you have questions don't hesitate to ask.
